Job summary

Greater Providence YMCA is seeking an Early Childhood Lead Teacher, Float, at Mount Hope Child Care Center in Providence, RI. The role focuses on developing and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum while supervising staff and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment for children.

The Lead Teacher will align activities with RI standards (RIELDS), manage supplies and lesson plans, and foster positive relationships with children and families, meeting licensing requirements

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with RI standards.
• Supervise and evaluate classroom staff; train new staff/volunteers.
• Collaborate with the Child Care Director on policies and procedures; refer special education needs.
• Tailor program to meet diverse needs; promote inclusion.
• Ensure DHS regulations compliance and accurate attendance records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and learning centers.
