Job summary
UVA Health's Stem Cell Transplant Unit in Charlottesville is a specialized 15-room unit delivering Cellular Therapy and stem cell transplantation. As an Inpatient Charge Nurse, you will mentor staff, coordinate care, and lead daily operations while remaining active in clinical practice.
You will serve as a key resource for staff, ensure safe, high-quality care, manage staffing/resources, support patient rounding and experience initiatives, and uphold safety standards in a complex cellular
Qualifications
- Education: BSN required or enrolled in BSN/MSN program to complete within 5 years.
- Experience: RN Clinician 2+ on the unit 6 months or prior Charge Nurse experience.
- Licensure: Virginia RN license and AHA BLS certification.
- Physical demands: standing, lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs, exposure to hazards.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily unit operations to support safe patient flow and care quality.
- Coordinate staffing and resources based on patient needs.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff.
- Support care escalation and operational decision-making.
- Facilitate communication across disciplines and teams.
- Support patient rounding and patient experience initiatives.
