Job summary

Lakelands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Abbeville, SC is seeking a Charge Nurse (LPN or RN) for full-time 1st shift. The role provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises certified nursing assistants in accordance with regulations and facility policies.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in South Carolina (or a valid LPN/RN) with CPR certification and is ready to lead a care team, manage medications, and coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers as part of daily

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or RN program graduation.
• Experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• Current unrestricted RN license in South Carolina.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily activities of CNAs according to regulations and facility policies.
• Ensures policies are followed by nursing staff on the unit.
• Participates in admission, discharge and transfers of residents.
• Documents changes in residents' status and notifies physicians and families.
• Transcribes orders and administers medications as prescribed.
• Provides wound care, tubes feeding and IV administration as required.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and transportation as needed.
• Provides nursing leadership to the unit staff.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to meet residents' needs.
• Reports incidents or complaints and participates in investigations as needed.
• Participates in end-of-life care as required.
