Job summary

Qualifications

• A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.
• Current unrestricted license as RN or LPN in the practicing state.
• Current CPR.
• Prior long-term care experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily activities of CNAs in compliance with regulations and facility policies.
• Ensures policy adherence by nursing personnel and manages admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
• Observes resident status changes, notifies physician and family, and documents accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders and carries out orders as written.
• Prepares and administers medications and monitors for adverse effects.
• Performs wound care per physician orders and documents changes.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and transportation; provides nursing leadership on the unit.
• Provides direct care such as colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, IVs.
• Conducts rounds to ensure needs are met and tasks are performed.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to meet resident needs holistically.
