Natera is seeking a Lead Bioinformatician to advance cfDNA algorithmic foundations and develop scalable computational tools for sequencing data. This role emphasizes analytic rigor, production-quality methods, and cross-functional collaboration in a remote US setting.

You will drive strategy for callers, participate in evaluative studies, and ensure data quality across variant management and reporting teams, with focus on cfDNA applications and regulatory-aligned pipelines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Human Genetics, or a related field.
• 4+ years analyzing short-read sequencing data for screening or diagnostic applications.
• Experience contributing to bioinformatics workflows behind a sequencing assay or panel.
• Experience seeing complex investigations through to resolution across biological, analytical, and systems-level causes.

Responsibilities

• Panel and Assay Science: provide genomics algorithm insights for panel roadmap and analytical edge cases.
• Caller Strategy and Method Development: define computational strategy for new callers and prototype methods.
• Scientific Investigation: serve as genomics consultant on complex production escalations and derive durable rules.
• Data Quality and Cross-functional Partnership: liaison with Quality and Laboratory functions on data and variant representation.
