Zusammenfassung

Zone 5 Technologies is seeking an experienced CFD Lead to drive high-fidelity analysis for air‑launched effects and munitions. You will mentor aerodynamicists, shape CFD strategies, and collaborate with Propulsion, GNC, Design, and Systems Engineering to ensure performance under launch and flight conditions.

You will validate against wind tunnel and flight data, develop robust meshes, and lead automated CFD workflows while coordinating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's in aerospace/mechanical engineering (Master's typical).
• 8+ years leading CFD in a product-driven program environment.
• Proficiency with major CFD solvers (CFD++, OVERFLOW, FUN3D, STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent).
• Experience with meshing tools (Pointwise/ANSA) and overset grids.
• Strong CFD post-processing skills (ParaView/FieldView/Workbench).
• Experience with missiles/munitions/high-speed vehicles.
• Ability to validate vs wind tunnel/flight data; safety-critical decisions.

Aufgaben

• Lead high-fidelity CFD analysis (RANS/URANS/DES) for missiles and interceptors.
• Establish CFD standards and document procedures for database development.
• Allocate resources, timelines and deliverables; mentor engineers.
• Validate models against wind tunnel/flight data and investigate discrepancies.
• Develop mesh generation and convergence studies for complex geometries.
• Collaborate to integrate aerodynamic data into vehicle design and models.
• Present findings at design reviews and internal discussions.
• Develop automated workflows for HPC post-processing and data reduction.
