Job summary

Zone 5 Technologies is seeking an experienced CFD Lead to drive high‑fidelity CFD analyses for air‑launched effects, interceptors, and next‑gen munitions. You will set technical direction for CFD, mentor engineers, and partner across Propulsion, GNC, Design, and Systems Engineering to ensure robust performance under launch and flight conditions.

The role requires leading the verification against wind tunnel and flight data, developing mesh/convergence studies, and presenting findings at design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of CFD analysis leadership in a product-driven environment.
• Proficiency with aerospace/defense CFD solvers (CFD++, OVERFLOW, FUN3D, STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent).
• Experience with meshing tools (Pointwise, ANSA, Chimera Grid Tools).
• Experience validating CFD with wind tunnel/flight test data.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-fidelity CFD analyses (RANS/URANS/DES) for missiles, interceptors, and high-speed hardware.
• Develop CFD standards and wind-tunnel/flight-test correlation.
• Mentor aerodynamics/CFD engineers and guide analysis approaches.
• Develop automated CFD workflows and HPC batch processes.
• Collaborate with Design, Propulsion, GNC, and Systems Engineering.
