HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is seeking a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician to ensure clean, sterile instruments and supplies are ready for each procedure. You will lead and train the Sterile Processing team, maintain sterilization records, and collaborate with the surgical team to uphold high standards of patient safety.

Your role requires a high school diploma, knowledge of sterilization supplies and equipment, and current certification (CBSPD or HSPA).

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in sterile processing (CBSPD or HSPA) is required or strongly preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of lead/supervisory experience in sterile processing.
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, instruments, and workflow.

Responsabilidades

• Clean, inspect, sterilize instruments and trays and ensure readiness for patient care.
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment; document cycles and safety checks.
• Assemble surgical sets and case carts based on daily schedules.
• Manage inventory and organize OR storage; coordinate with surgical team to keep surgeries on schedule.
• Lead, train, and mentor the Sterile Processing team; implement new equipment and processes.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician, you will be an invaluable safety expert and trusted leader on our team. You will use your precision and skills to keep every surgical instrument and supply clean, reliable, and ready when it matters most. You will also share your knowledge and guide your colleagues, helping create a safe, efficient environment where your team can thrive and where patients’ lives are improved every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and trays to ensure every tool works properly and is ready for patient care

• Operating and maintaining sterilization equipment, while keeping detailed records of sterilization cycles, safety checks, and quality standards

• Preparing surgical sets and case carts by reviewing daily schedules and gathering the right instruments and supplies for each procedure

• Managing inventory, organizing supplies in OR storage areas, and working closely with the surgical team to help keep surgeries run smoothly and on time

• Leading and training the Sterile Processing team, sharing updates on new equipment and processes, and setting a positive example to support a safe, high-quality environment where teamwork thrives

What qualifications you will need:

· High School graduate or equivalent

· Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments

· Minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience; Lead or Supervisory level experience is strongly preferred

· Current certification (CBSPD or HSPA)
