Job summary

Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX seeks a seasoned Operations Supervisor to lead the heating, cooling, and refrigeration maintenance team across the Central Plant and campus infrastructure. You will manage budgets, schedule maintenance, and ensure OSHA safety standards are met.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, the ability to read MEP drawings, and hands-on leadership to coordinate engineers and maintenance staff 24/7 readiness.

Qualifications

• Ten years or more experience as a plant or maintenance supervisor.
• Ability to read MEP drawings and understand 15 kV and 5 kV systems.
• Experience with budgeting and vendor bid processes.

Responsibilities

• Train, supervise, and direct all Operating Plant and Preventative Maintenance personnel.
• Create and maintain annual and monthly operating budgets for the Central Plant.
• Request quotes and source multiple bids on large projects.
• Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for maintenance work.
• Ensure operation efficiency of electrical equipment and mechanical systems campus-wide.
• Schedule operating shifts, overtime projects, and vacation coverage with Asst. Chief.
