Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Responds knowledgeably to customer and employee questions and guides them to the correct store areas
• Communicates information on stock, feature benefits, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
• Provides proper monetary change to associates for register activities
• Removes security tags and bags merchandise for customers
• Prepares register area and checks functionality of registers and scanners
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints tickets, verifies receipts
• Looks up product information and price match comparisons
• Records items used in the store on the use lists
• Conducts daily cash reconciliation duties
• Monitors cash drawer and cash recycler levels
• Monitors store entrances and assists customers or associates at alarms
• Detects shoplifting and communicates risks to management
• Ensures housekeeping and safety standards are followed
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment and conducts daily safety reviews
• Adheres to safety requirements for stock and equipment
• Operates store equipment as needed
• Performs additional duties as assigned
