GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for ensuring guest transactions are efficient and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. The LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates, demonstrating leadership, collaboration, and influence. This role drives loyalty results, including credit, through performance, people, and process focus. The LC supports opening and closing registers, associate exit inspections, and cashier chat ins/outs, with a passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering results by engaging guests in our Loyalty Life Cycle and contributing to goal achievement.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance

• Meet or exceed store goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty (including credit), and retail shrink.
• Provide exceptional service by greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, and recommending products/services.
• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
• Support guest makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to enhance sales and service.
• Book appointments and support in-store events to deliver a superior guest experience and meet sales targets.
• Maintain replenishment, organization, and readiness of cashwrap displays and supplies.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

People

• Create an inclusive environment supporting teammates and guests.
• Assist leadership with cashier chat ins/outs and associate exit inspections.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and share benefits of the loyalty program with guests.
• Train new cashiers and cross-train associates.
• Lead peers to achieve productivity and performance goals.
• Drive accountability in delivering personalized guest experiences and following systems prompts.
• Participate in ongoing training for professional development and sales growth.
• Collaborate across the store to grow the business.

Process

• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
• Adhere to the dress code.
• Complete transactions accurately, including returns and media control.
• Perform register opening/closing as directed.
• Maintain store cleanliness and standards throughout the store.
• Protect assets and minimize loss through adherence to standards.
• Execute operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school diploma preferred.

Experience

• 2 years relevant experience or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
• Passion for guest service and sales.
• Experience in addressing guest concerns professionally.
• Proven sales exceeding and training experience.

Skills

• Proficient with POS systems and Apple devices.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• React under pressure, exercise good judgment, and be adaptable.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be 18 or older to hold the Lead Cashier role.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility throughout the store during shift.
• Frequent bending, lifting up to 25 lbs., and reaching.
