General Summary & Scope

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. Experienced in cashiering, the LC assists in the training of new cashiers and the cross-training of other associates. This position drives loyalty results, including credit, through performance, people, and process. The LC supports the leadership team with register functions, associate inspections, and cashier chat ins/outs, requiring a passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering results by engaging guests in the Loyalty Life Cycle and contributing to store goals.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance
  • Meeting or exceeding store goals related to sales, loyalty, and shrink.
  • Providing exceptional guest service, greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, and recommending products/services.
  • Handling sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
  • Supporting in-store services and events to enhance guest experience and sales.
  • Maintaining cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures.
  • Maintaining prompt attendance.
People
  • Supporting an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
  • Completing cashier chat ins/outs and associate inspections.
  • Staying informed about industry trends, products, and services.
  • Sharing the benefits of loyalty programs with guests.
  • Training new cashiers and cross-training associates.
  • Engaging peers to achieve performance goals.
  • Participating in ongoing training and collaborating to grow the business.
Process
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Adhering to dress code.
  • Completing transactions and controlling cash/media according to policies.
  • Executing register functions and maintaining store standards and cleanliness.
  • Protecting assets and minimizing loss.
  • Executing other operational tasks as directed.
Job Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma preferred.
Experience
  • Two years relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to delegate, multi-task, and solve problems.
  • Passion for guest service and sales.
  • Experience in exceeding sales goals and training.
Skills
  • Proficiency with POS systems and technology.

Special Position Requirements
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
