Job summary

Qualifications

• Carpentry and supervisory experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and building plans.
• Valid SD Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Determine priorities of projects and work orders.
• Examine blueprints to prepare layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Lay out floor plans and carpentry work using standard carpentry instruments.
• Select and purchase materials and inspect quality.
• Ensure conformance with local, state and federal codes, guidelines, and ordinances.
• Determine sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembly, and erection of structures.
• Gives progress reports to the Facilities Manager and submits budget requests for tools and equipment.
• Determine power and carpentry tools needed and inspect for safe operation.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Oversee, manage, and train carpenters in daily routines and work assignments.
• Comply with all safety and health requirements.
