THE ROLE:

The Lead Carpenter will perform carpentry and construction duties on multiple projects while assisting in the supervision of 1-3 projects. (This position may eventually lead to a full superintendent position, if desired - if the candidate shows exceptional organizational skills.)

  2. Mastery of plan reading.
  3. Thorough knowledge of residential building procedures and familiarity with CA Building Codes.
  4. Solid math skills.
  5. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with in-house labor, office staff, subcontractors, and inspectors.

Responsibilities:

  1. Independently lead crew in quality, efficient carpentry, and construction work.
  2. Assist Project Manager on overall project site supervision on one or more projects.
  3. Meet with subcontractors and internal labor to ensure understanding of scope and expectations.
  4. Perform QC and sign off on internal team’s & vendors’ work.
  5. Teach, instruct, and assist internal labor to perform tasks as needed to ensure timely, quality work.
  6. Order lumber and “off-the-shelf” materials and supplies.
  7. Enforce a clean and safe work environment, job site conditions, and team behavior.
  8. Complete various daily administrative tasks such as times cards, checklists, and daily logs.
  9. Participate in periodic team meetings as needed.
