Job summary

HDR Remodeling is seeking a skilled Lead Remodeling Carpenter for full-time, long-term work in the East Bay area. The ideal candidate will lead residential remodeling crews, read plans, and ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery in Oakland, Piedmont, El Cerrito, and surrounding towns.

The role requires extensive carpentry experience, strong communication, and a focus on safety. A driver with a rack-equipped truck and legal work status in the United States are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in residential remodeling carpentry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Carpenter.
• Extensive knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
• Familiarity with building and construction codes.
• Must be able to read and execute plans accurately.
• Able to interact and communicate well with crew, subcontractors, and client.
• Must reside in the East Bay area.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have a truck with a rack.
• Clean DMV record with no DUIs or Felony convictions.
• Current auto insurance and vehicle registration.

HDR Remodeling is an award-winning Design-Build firm celebrating 37 years of satisfied residential clients in the East Bay Area. We specialize in whole-house renovations, kitchen and bath remodeling, and garage and basement conversions. We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Remodeling Carpenter interested in long-term, full-time employment with a well-established company. This position offers opportunities for advancement to Project Manager or Production Manager.

Our work is focused exclusively in the East Bay area, spanning from Oakland and Piedmont to El Cerrito. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in residential remodeling carpentry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Carpenter.
• Extensive knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
• Familiarity with building and construction codes.
• Must to be able to read and execute plans accurately.
• Able to interact and communicate well with your crew, subcontractors, and the client
• Must reside in the East Bay area.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Punctual, loyal, and committed to safety; maintain a good personal appearance and develop positive habits.
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Must have a truck with a rack.
• Clean DMV record (no more than one point) with no DUIs or Felony convictions.
• Current auto insurance and vehicle registration.
• Contractor’s license a plus and/or college degree, a plus
• Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting 100 pounds
