Job summary

Ben Hardy & Company is seeking a Lead Carpenter to support high-end residential remodeling projects in San Francisco and surrounding areas. This role involves both structural and finish carpentry, working closely with a small, experienced team to execute detailed, design-focused renovations.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of residential carpentry experience and a strong ability to read drawings, manage site organization, and coordinate with subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of residential carpentry experience.
• Experience with rough and finish carpentry.
• Ability to read and work from plans and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and site organization.
• Reliable transportation to SF-area job sites.
• Familiarity with Procore or similar PM tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform framing, finish carpentry, and cabinet installation.
• Interpret construction drawings and coordinate with project leads.
• Maintain quality standards through all construction phases.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades on-site.
• Identify and resolve on-site construction challenges.
• Follow all safety and company procedures.

Location: San Francisco, CA

Job Type: Full-time (W-2)

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts (overtime may be available)

Overview

What You'll Do

• Perform hands-on carpentry work including framing, finish carpentry, and cabinet installation
• Interpret construction drawings and coordinate with project leads
• Maintain quality standards across all phases of construction
• Support coordination with subcontractors and other trades on-site
• Identify and resolve construction challenges in real time
• Follow all job site safety requirements and company procedures

What We're Looking For
