EXOVATIONS is seeking a Lead Carpenter to supervise a crew installing decks, porches, windows, and doors in the Atlanta area. You will train and direct carpenters, manage on-site activity, and ensure projects meet plans, budgets, and schedules.

POSITION SCOPE:
The EXOVATIONS of Atlanta, LLC (EXO)’s Lead Carpenter (LC) position plays a vital role as the crew leader of a team of Carpenters in the installation of decks, porches, windows, and doors. Lead Carpenters lead, train and direct work of the assigned team, accepting responsibility for each project assigned. Lead Carpenters are provided opportunities to learn and grow within a two-tiered process, providing stellar customer service and job performance results opening doors to project management career opportunities.
KEY RESULTS:
LEAD CARPENTER I (LC1) - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ABILITIES:
Performs carpentry tasks with the highest quality of craftsmanship in the time allotted
Keeps informed of the entire project scope including revisions, change orders or changes to the scope of work and the schedule
Leads a team of Carpenters to perform assigned project tasks
Communicates clearly and effectively with the Installation Manager, Project Manager, team members and clients as the Lead Carpenter is the working jobsite manager
Responsible for jobsite safety, cleanliness, security and protection from the elements.
Ensures a first aid kit is on site at all times
Orders construction materials as needed
Holds themselves and all carpenters under their direction accountable for their work performance, actions, and appearance
Responsible for the production of projects in accordance to the plans and specifications
Participates and prepares for weekly on-site meetings with client, Installation Manager and Project Manager
Maintains a good attitude even through adversity
Problem solves without the direction of superiors
Travels by car/truck or other modes of transportation to perform essential duties of position
Performs other duties as assigned by the Installation Manager or other management personnel
PREREQUISITE EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPENTENCIES:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred
· Meets all requirements of Carpenter IV position with EXO
· Prefer lead or management experience in the construction industry
· Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
· Displays a positive, upbeat attitude
· Dependable, reliable, and has a strong work ethic
· Current and valid motor vehicle operator’s license
· Critical Competencies:
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
All physical requirements are performed for the duration of an 8–10-hour shift.
Wears personnel protective equipment as required; safety glasses, dust mask, gloves, safety harness to be used above 4 ft and regular ladder and tool checks
Physical and mental ability to operate company vehicles and associated equipment
Demonstrated ability to perform rigorous outdoor duties including walking, standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching above and below shoulders, sitting, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, manual dexterity
Ability to climb ladders for extended periods of time
Ability to carry heavy objects
Ability to lift 100 pounds regularly
Good fine motor skills, coordination, range of motion and grip strength
Ability to work in all climate conditions
Ability to be exposed to loud noise levels
Ability to use power tools and pneumatic tools, as well as hand tools: skill saws, miter saws, nail guns, Sawzall, general carpentry tools
Ability to work in an environment containing dirt, grease, and dust
Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and heavy equipment
Ability to read, write, and understand English
Ability to effectively interact with others internally and externally
Ability to work with many different personalities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Correctable vision and hearing
Full-Time: Monday - Friday
Pay Rate: $24 per hour
