Job summary

Black Mountain Builders in Brattleboro, VT is seeking a full-time Lead Carpenter to help lead construction projects from the field and guide a crew through all build phases. You will support Site Supervisors and Owners while mentoring teammates in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of hands-on field carpentry and at least 1 year in a leadership role. Residential projects are within a 45-minute radius of Brattleboro, focusing on craftsmanship and high-quality

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Assist in leading construction projects and daily field operations.
Support the Site Supervisor and Owners in project execution.
Coordinate and guide a small crew of carpenters.
Mentor team members and promote a positive, collaborative work environment.
Maintain job site organization, efficiency, and quality standards.
Anticipate upcoming project needs and next steps to keep work progressing smoothly.
Understand and set task-specific quality tolerances for the team.
Perform high-quality carpentry in a safe and time-efficient manner.
Arrange and receive material deliveries and ensure proper storage.
