Qualifications

  • Approximately 15 years of residential construction/carpentry experience.
  • Extensive experience with custom or high-end residential construction.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
  • Excellent framing and finish carpentry skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed architectural plans.
  • Lead, teach, and mentor other carpenters; strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform carpentry work throughout all phases of custom home construction.
  • Oversee day-to-day carpentry activities on the jobsite.
  • Read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and construction details.
  • Perform and oversee framing, siding, windows, doors, trim, and finish carpentry.
  • Establish accurate layout and ensure work is completed to plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate daily work with Project Managers and other members of the construction team.
  • Direct and mentor Carpenter's Helpers and less-experienced carpenters.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades as necessary.
  • Monitor workmanship, quality, and jobsite organization.
  • Identify potential construction issues and communicate them proactively.
  • Help coordinate materials, deliveries, and jobsite logistics.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite.
  • Ensure work is completed correctly, efficiently, and according to Greenier Builders' standards.
  • Take ownership of the quality and progress of the carpentry work.
  • Represent Greenier Builders professionally with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Greenier Builders, Inc. is a custom home builder based in York, Maine, specializing in high-quality custom homes throughout Southern Maine.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have approximately 15 years of residential construction experience, with a strong background in custom home building and the ability to lead carpentry work from framing through finish.

This is a key position within our company for an experienced carpenter who takes ownership of their work, understands the details of quality construction, and can lead others by example.
