Lead Carpenter - Residential Remodeling & Custom Builds

Work Location: Ashland, NH & Central NH (Lakes Region)

Full-Time | $34-$40/hr + Benefits

Center Carpentry is hiring an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our residential remodeling and custom-build team. While this role is posted in Concord, all projects are based in Ashland, NH and the surrounding Central NH/Lakes Region. We welcome candidates from Concord who are comfortable with a predictable commute.

We specialize in high-quality renovations, additions, and custom residential work for homeowners who value craftsmanship, communication, and long-term relationships. We're a small, tight-knit team with high standards, a healthy culture, and a commitment to building work that lasts.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily production on residential jobsites, working hands-on with apprentices and journeyworkers
• Read and interpret drawings, elevations, and specifications
• Plan work sequences, material needs, and daily goals to keep projects on schedule
• Execute all phases of residential carpentry: framing, trim, cabinetry, windows/doors, siding, and finish work
• Coordinate and supervise specialty subcontractors
• Uphold company standards for quality, safety, and professionalism
• Communicate regularly with the Project Manager on progress and needs
• Train and mentor less-experienced carpenters
• Maintain a clean, organized, and protected jobsite
• Use JobTread for daily logs, updates, and communication

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of residential carpentry experience, including custom and finish work
• Proven ability to lead small crews and set the pace on-site
• Strong skill set across framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry install, and exterior carpentry
• Reliable transportation to Ashland, NH job locations
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset
• Well-maintained professional hand tools (larger equipment provided)

Compensation & Benefits

• $34-$40/hr, based on experience and craftsmanship
