City and County of Honolulu is recruiting a Lead Carpenter-Cabinet Maker in Honolulu. The role involves constructing, renovating and fabricating cabinets, counters, shelves, and other wooden structures, with duties including reading plans and supervising crew. The job includes occasional disaster-response work and fingerprinting requirements, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Work hours are Monday to Friday, 6:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.

Qualifications

• Experience at journey level in carpentry and cabinet making.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and sketches.
• Must supervise helpers, apprentices or laborers.
• Cabinet making experience alone is not qualifying; requires carpentry and cabinet work.

Responsibilities

• Construct walls, partitions, ceilings, and floors during renovations.
• Fabricate and install built-in cabinets, counters, shelving, and desks.
• Read plans and determine materials needed.
• Operate service trucks and a forklift to transport and handle materials.
• Direct and inspect the work of helpers and laborers.
