Job summary

Building Ventures in Charlotte, NC seeks a hands-on Lead Carpenter to manage and perform structural carpentry on residential and light commercial projects. You will run small crews, read blueprints, set layouts, frame structures, and ensure work meets specs and code.

This field role requires moving fast, reliable outdoor work, and overtime opportunities. Valid driver’s license and OSHA 10 are preferred, with safety and craftsmanship as priorities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on carpentry with structural/framing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and set layouts accurately.
• Experience supervising or leading small crews on job sites.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to sites.
• OSHA 10 preferred or willingness to obtain; First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise carpentry crew on site; assign tasks and monitor progress.
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and layouts; verify measurements.
• Perform structural framing, sheathing, trimming, and bench carpentry as needed.
• Measure, mark, and cut materials accurately with hand and power tools.
• Inspect work for quality and code compliance; coordinate material orders and site inspections.

About This RoleSeeking a hands-on Lead Carpenter to manage and perform structural carpentry work on residential and light commercial projects in Charlotte, NC. You'll run small crews, read and verify blueprints, set layouts, frame structures, and make sure work meets specs and code. This is a field role for someone who moves fast, knows framing and bench work, and takes pride in durable, accurate craftsmanship.
