JW Design Build is seeking experienced lead Carpenter to join our team in the Central Maine area! The ideal candidate possesses a high level of knowledge related to carpentry and woodworking, with an eye for detail, commitment to quality, a strong work ethic and willingness to learn from and support an experienced crew.

Are you a skilled carpenter looking for a leadership role in a dynamic and growing company? Look no further! JW Design Build is seeking a Lead Carpenter to join our team and bring their expertise and passion for carpentry to our projects.

As the Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of carpenters, ensuring the successful completion of construction projects from start to finish. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure all work is completed to the highest level of quality and within the given time frame.

A full-time commitment to this role is required, and you will be expected to work from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Our job sites are expertly maintained, and it will be necessary for you to adhere to company policy regarding behavior and appearance.

Physical demands:this position requires the physical ability to lift and carry items weighing approximately 90 lbs, climb and work from ladders, bend, stoop and work around dust and flumes and in inclement weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage a team of carpenters and provide guidance and support as needed

- Proven ability to manage multiple client projects at once.

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications

- Plan and coordinate the construction process, including scheduling and managing materials and labor

- Ensure all work is completed according to codes and safety regulations

- Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to provide updates and resolve any issues that may arise

- Work with client throughout project to maintain communication and positive client experience

- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure work is being completed to the highest level of quality

- Troubleshoot and resolve any carpentry-related problems that may arise during construction

-Strong organizational and time management skills

- Proficient in using power tools and hand tools

- Comfortable working with a variety of materials and finishes

- Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in construction and repair of buildings and other structures and items.

- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or defects.

- Ability to handle physical labor for long periods of time

- Maintain a clean and organized and safe work site at all times

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in carpentry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role

- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools

- Excellent leadership and communication skills

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications

- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction software
