Job summary

FOUNTAIN OF JOY DDD group homes in Mesa operate 24/7 to provide compassionate care and support to residents. The caregiver role includes directing staff, assisting with ADLs, coordinating activities, and ensuring safety under individualized care plans.

The position requires CPR/First Aid certification, English proficiency, and a valid driver’s license, with opportunities for training, advancement, and a competitive hourly wage in a team-focused setting.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• 1 year of caregiving experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• A valid driver's license preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certified.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proficiency in English, written and verbal.
• Must be capable of frequently lifting/moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and moving more than 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to direct support staff during the shift.
• Assign tasks such as medication passes, hygiene support, documentation, meal prep, and activities.
• Serve as the point of contact for emergencies, incidents, and family or supervisor communication.
• Mentor and train new staff members.
• Ensure residents’ needs are met according to ISP/care plan.
• Support residents with ADLs and daily living skills.
• Facilitate community outings, appointments, and skill-building activities.
• Advocate for residents’ rights, preferences, and safety.
• Administer medications (if certified) and ensure accurate documentation.
• Monitor health changes and communicate concerns to supervisors or nurses.
• Coordinate doctor appointments and follow-up care.
• Complete shift notes, incident reports, MARs, and logs.
• Ensure staff follow policies, licensing regulations, and safety protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
• Oversee household routines: cleaning, meals, shopping, inventory.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, case managers, and healthcare providers.
• Lead responses to medical or behavioral emergencies and report concerns.
