Safe Harbor Home Care, a San Diego-based home care provider, seeks Lead Caregivers to mentor and guide the caregiving team in delivering compassionate in-home care. You will supervise, train, and support caregivers while ensuring high-quality service for clients.

Applicants should have California HCA registration, 2+ years of caregiving experience, and reliable transportation. The role offers a supportive environment with ongoing training and opportunities for career advancement.

Formación

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid I-9 eligibility documentation.
• California HCA registration prior to client assignment.
• Current TB clearance.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and client confidentiality.
• Ability to pass required background check.
• 2 years of professional caregiving experience.
• Experience with mobility challenges, dementia, chronic conditions, or hospice care.

Responsabilidades

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Personal care and hygiene.
• Food preparation.
• Bathing, grooming and dressing.
• Errands and doctor appointments.
• Medication reminders.
• Assist with walking, mobility and transfers.
• Keep client environment comfortable and tidy; assist with laundry.
• Provide companionship and conversation.
• Communicate changes to the care team.
• Complete caregiving documentation accurately and on time.
• Fill urgent or last-minute shifts when necessary.
• Conduct in-home caregiver orientations.
• Provide hands-on caregiver training and support.
• Assist with onboarding activities.
• Serve as field resource and subject matter expert for caregivers.
• Support quality assurance initiatives.
• Document incidents and participate in follow-up activities.
• Liaise between caregivers and office staff.
• Support continuity of care and client satisfaction.

What You'll Do

Lead Caregivers perform all responsibilities of a Caregiver while also serving as a resource, mentor, and field leader for the caregiving team. Responsibilities may include:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Personal care and hygiene
• Food preparation
• Bathing, grooming and dressing
• Errands and doctor appointments
• Medication Reminders
• Assist with walking, mobility and transfers
• Keep client's environment comfortable and tidy, assist with laundry
• Provide companionship and conversation
• Notice the little things and communicate changes to your care team
• Complete required caregiving documentation accurately and on time
• Fill urgent or last-minute shifts when necessary
• Conduct in-home caregiver orientations
• Provide hands-on caregiver training and support
• Assist with onboarding activities
• Serve as a field resource and subject matter expert for caregivers
• Support quality assurance initiatives
• Document incidents and participate in follow‑up activities
• Act as a liaison between caregivers and office staff
• Support continuity of care and client satisfaction

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid I-9 employment eligibility documentation
• California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration prior to client assignment
• Current TB clearance
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and client confidentiality
• Ability to pass required background check
• 2 years of professional caregiving experience
• Experience supporting clients with mobility challenges, dementia, chronic conditions, or hospice care
• Reliable attendance and strong communication skills
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and problem‑solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• CNA Certification

• Bilingual (Spanish/English or Tagalog/English)
