Job summary

Safe Harbor Home Care is seeking a motivated Lead Caregiver to mentor a compassionate caregiving team in California. You will oversee daily client support, train staff, and ensure high-quality in-home care across AS sets.

This role emphasizes reliability, communication, and leadership to maintain continuity of care and client satisfaction. Responsibilities include ADLs, medications reminders, mobility support, documentation, and covering shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• California Home Care Aide (HCA) registration prior to client assignment.
• Current TB clearance.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and client confidentiality.
• Ability to pass required background check.
• 2 years of professional caregiving experience.
• Experience with mobility challenges, dementia, chronic conditions, or hospice care.
• Reliable attendance and strong communication skills.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Personal care and hygiene support.
• Food preparation and meal planning.
• Bathing, grooming and dressing assistance.
• Errands and doctor appointments.
• Medication reminders.
• Mobility support and transfers.
• Maintain clean, comfortable living environment.
• Provide companionship and conversation.
• Document caregiving activities accurately and on time.
• Fill urgent or last-minute shifts when necessary.
• Conduct in-home caregiver orientations and hands-on training.
• Onboard new caregivers and serve as a field resource.
• Support quality assurance and continuity of care.
