Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Lead Cardiovascular Tech to assist physicians in invasive cardiovascular procedures and with circulatory support devices. This role supports evaluation of new technologies and adherence to research protocols within the Cardiac Cath Lab.

You will collaborate with the Cardiac Cath Lab team to drive quality initiatives and coordinate with leadership to improve lab operations. Strong radiologic technologist training and clinical experience are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technologist program.
• Minimum of 3 years in cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with invasive cardiovascular procedures and circulatory support devices.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and support clinical research trials.
• Support quality initiatives and coordinate with Cardiac Cath Lab leadership.
• Confers with the manager to improve Cardiac Cath Lab operations.

The Lead Cardiovascular Tech will assist physicians with all invasive cardiovascular procedures and circulatory support devices as indicated (i.e. IABP and Impella). In addition, the Lead Cardiovascular Tech will assist with the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, adherence to protocols for clinical research trials, and support quality based departmental initiatives. Confers with the manager as necessary to improve the functions of Cardiac Cath Lab suites.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technologist program.
• Minimum of 3 year prior experience in cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platform.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Associates or Bachelors Degree in health science field.
• Prior experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory, invasive procedure area or special procedures radiology

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Diagnostic Radiography License.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Working Conditions:

• Lifts a minimum of 40 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs. and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.
