Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Lead Cardiovascular Technologist to assist physicians with invasive cardiovascular procedures and support devices. You will help evaluate new technologies, participate in research protocols, and mentor staff in the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited radiologic technologist program and 3+ years in cardiac cath/interventional radiology settings; strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technologist program.
• Minimum of 3 years prior experience in cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office and Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize equipment and sterile trays for each procedure.
• Oversee maintenance and calibration of diagnostic/technical equipment and ensure quality control.
• Coordinate staff scheduling, training, and coaching.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives (ACC-NCDR, ACC Accreditation, regulatory requirements).
• Collaborate with Radiation Safety Officer on lead/radiation badge maintenance and quality monitoring.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards per policy.
• Evaluate new equipment, technology, and supplies for the Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and interpret cardiac arrhythmias.
• Assist physicians with table controls; Radiology Technologist may maneuvre fluoroscopy per request.
• Orient new physicians and fellows to Cardiac Cath Lab equipment; precept new technologists.
• Assist with special projects and emergency patient care as needed.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and educate staff on isolation per policy.
• Promote professionalism aligned with HMH values (Collaboration, Courage, Compassion, Creativity).
• Assess patient population needs and tailor care to age/language/cultural requirements.
