Qualifications

• Completion of a CAHEA approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography.
• 5 years of sonographer experience.
• RDMS certification and advanced specialty certification as required by facility.
• BLS from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates equipment and assists radiologists in guided procedures.
• Reviews patient images for diagnostic quality.
• Leads departmental programs, protocol development, and quality initiatives.
• Assists in orientation and training of junior staff.
