Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare West is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist Lead to set the standard for excellence in a high‑spectrum Cath Lab. You will balance lifesaving procedures with mentoring and empowering your team to deliver safe, high‑quality care.

As a leader, you will guide hiring, onboarding, and implementation of new practices while leveraging advanced technology and staffing resources to strengthen teamwork and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Within 6 months, obtain Cardiovascular Interventional (CI) certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example during complex cardiac and vascular procedures with focus on precision and safety.
• Coach, mentor, and precept team members to build confidence and align with best practices.
• Oversee workflow, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain a sterile, prepared environment.
• Advocate for patients and families, offering guidance and reassurance throughout care journey.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and communication of new practices and standards.

As the Lead Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist at HCA Healthcare, you’ll be more than an expert in the lab—you’ll be the guide who sets the standard for excellence. Your influence will extend beyond each procedure, shaping the growth of your colleagues and the future of our Cath Lab.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading by example during complex cardiac and vascular procedures, ensuring precision, safety, and compassionate care
• Coaching, mentoring, and precepting team members to build confidence, skill, and alignment with best practices
• Overseeing workflow, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining a safe, sterile, and fully prepared environment
• Advocating for patients and families throughout the care journey, providing guidance, education, and reassurance
• Driving team success by supporting hiring, onboarding, and communication of new practices and standards

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• New hires will have 6 months from date of hire to obtain Cardiovascular Interventional (CI) certification
• Associate Degree
• (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer - (ARRT-R) Radiography, required with minimum one year of experience preferred. Or CVT (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, or Cardiovascular Interventional (CI) required with minimum year experience in the Cath Lab.
• Highly prefer CVT with 1+ years' experience in Cath Lab; or EMT‑I or higher certification with experience in EKGs.
