Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare West is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab. You will provide skilled patient care in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient outcomes.

The role requires ACLS/BCLS and NIH Stroke Scale within specified windows, and either a Bachelor’s or an Associate degree with RN licensure. We offer training, career growth, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• ACLS to be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• BCLS to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN licensed nurse with Bachelor’s or Associate degree.

Responsibilities

• May perform scrubbing duties for diagnostic/interventional cardiology and radiology procedures.
• Assesses and reassesses the patient to gather data relevant to age-specific needs and disease process.
• Provides age-specific patient care according to assessment data, departmental policies and physician orders.
• Evaluates the patient’s response to interventions.
• Documents assessment data, patient care, interventions, and evaluations in the medical record.
• Documents drug procedure and equipment data required for billing information and for inventory control.
• Participates in multidisciplinary discharge planning.
• Ensures a safe environment for the patient.
• Participates in teaching the patient and family.
• Quality assurance and Core Measures for Cath Lab.
• Completes continuing education and in-service training to maintain current knowledge or skills.
• Category I exposure involves exposure to blood and body fluids; PPE is required.

What you will do in this role:

• May perform scrubbing duties for diagnostic/interventional cardiology and radiology procedures.
• Assesses and reassesses the patient to gather data relevant to the patient's individual, age specific needs, and disease process.
• Provides age specific patient care according to the assessment data, departmental policies and procedures and physician orders.
• Evaluates the patient’s response to interventions.
• Documents assessment data, patient care, interventions, and evaluations in the medical record.
• Documents drug procedure and equipment data required for generating patient billing information and for departmental inventory control.
• Participates in multidisciplinary discharge planning.
• Ensures a safe environment for the patient.
• Participates in teaching the patient and family.
• Quality assurance and Core Measures for Cath Lab.
• Completes continuing education and in-service training in order to maintain current knowledge or skills to perform job responsibilities.
• Category I exposure are tasks that involve exposure to blood and body fluids. Therefore, personal protective equipment is required.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
