Job summary

Amazon in Austin, TX is seeking an exceptional Sourcing Manager to own machinery tools for high-cost content. You will lead end-to-end capital equipment sourcing for multi-axis CNC machining centers, turning, grinding, and related tooling, shaping cost per part at volume and program readiness.

You will build supplier networks from zero to one, negotiate complex terms, manage lead times, and collaborate with Manufacturing and Process Engineering to meet tolerances and capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years in supply chain management, strategic sourcing, or procurement in manufacturing or automation.
• Experience managing capital equipment procurement and vendor portfolios.
• Experience leading contract negotiations with OEMs or equipment manufacturers.
• Experience developing sourcing strategies, procurement frameworks, or SOPs.
• Experience sourcing machine tools and production automation.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end capital equipment sourcing across multi-axis CNC machines and tooling.
• Lead complex vendor negotiations for pricing, terms, warranties, and run-at-rate.
• Manage lead times and schedule risk, coordinating with production start.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on capabilities and testing.
• Develop scalable sourcing frameworks and mentor other buyers.
• Establish supplier performance programs and risk mitigation.
