Lead Capital Cost Estimator

TWD is an engineering, procurement, and construction management consulting company providing project development, execution, and specialty engineering services for the oil and gas industry. Our expertise includes refinery, pipelines, terminalling and blending, renewables, food and beverage, power, downstream chemical processing, and more. We are dedicated to delivering effective business and technical solutions through exceptional service, innovation, and flexibility.

We are seeking a Lead Capital Cost Estimator for our Burlington, ON office to support TWD Technologies.

Job Responsibilities

1. Prepare quantitative estimates and proposal estimates for projects.
2. Utilize Aspen Capital Cost Estimator proficiently.
3. Prepare multi-disciplinary project estimates using Aspen Economic Evaluation software, managing costs for energy projects including oil and gas facilities, pipelines, and green energy, following AACEI guidelines.
4. Develop and coordinate estimate plans for projects of varying sizes and complexities.
5. Provide bases of estimates and conduct CCE using the basis of estimate.
6. Present estimates for internal and client reviews, answer questions, and explain details confidently.
7. Review and revise CCE policies and procedures to improve accuracy and consistency.
8. Manage a small team supporting CCE activities and lead estimate reviews with project teams.
9. Contribute to business development efforts by assessing effort levels for CCE scope.
10. Manage multiple projects concurrently.
11. Assist with project schedule development and updates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience.
• 5+ years of lead estimating experience.
• Experience with large and small projects.
• Proficient in Aspen Cost Estimating software.
• Minimum 5-6 years relevant experience in energy, oil and gas, pipeline, and industrial projects.
• Post-secondary education in engineering, technology, or applicable trades.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• AACE Certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera is an asset.
