Job summary

Inova Schar Cancer Institute is seeking an OncoGeneralist Physician to lead the survivorship program in the Washington, DC metro area. The role guides patients transitioning from active cancer treatment to long-term health, addressing medical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.

The OncoGeneralist serves as clinical leader, directs a team of NPs/PAs, and builds a health-system survivorship model that educates primary care providers and expands cancer survivorship across Inova.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience: completion of internal medicine residency program.
• Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in Virginia.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.
• Payer Credentialing: Ability to complete credentialing by third-party payors and CMS enrollment.
• Medical Staff Credentialing: Credentialing for Medical Staff membership and privileges.

Responsibilities

• Lead survivorship care for patients transitioning from active cancer treatment.
• Provide specialized survivorship care and address medical, emotional, psychosocial, and sexual health concerns.
• Develop and expand a system-wide survivorship model to educate primary care providers.
