Job summary

University at Buffalo Campus Dining & Shops seeks a Chef Manager to provide supervision and training to a diverse kitchen team, ensuring high quality meals and excellent customer service. You will support the unit manager in food production systems and oversee staffing, scheduling, and adherence to recipes and safety standards.

The role requires managing a demanding, 24/7 operation with long, irregular hours, weekend and evening shifts, and a focus on cost efficiencies while maintaining quality

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in food service or related field.
• Two years progressively responsible experience managing a similar food service operation.
• Experience in a high volume food service establishment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach and train student, union and temporary staff.
• Ensure recipes are followed and portions controlled; communicate with staff.
• Maintain recipes, production sheets and station checklists; manage food and labor costs.
