Position Title

Lead Campus Housekeeper, Marillac Campus

Position Summary / Career Interest

The Campus Housekeeper Lead assists the EVS manager by filling any role within the department and leads co-workers in performing their assignments, especially in training new employees. A Lead Custodial Worker serves as a role model in technical skills, behavior, and compliance with department processes.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

1. Assist the Supervisors and Manager with the day-to-day operations of the EVS Department, following the hospital’s professional standards.
2. Perform all other department jobs as listed in their job descriptions.
3. Ensure Custodial Workers/Housekeepers respond appropriately and promptly to all communication methods, including pages and radio messages.
4. Ensure that Custodial Workers/Housekeepers complete their assigned daily tasks and serve as backup to perform all daily tasks as needed.
5. Serve as a resource for employees and management in the absence of the Supervisor, bringing ideas and concerns to the Supervisor and participating in department decision-making.
6. Train and coach current and new staff to meet department and organizational standards.
7. Keep Custodial Workers/Housekeepers informed of departmental changes and current events within the health system.
8. Assist the Supervisor and Manager with department planning, reporting, projects, and initiatives as assigned.
9. Exhibit compliance with the hospital's Professional Image Standards as a model for housekeepers.
10. Perform the professional, clinical, and technical competencies relevant to the assigned department or unit.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three or more years of housekeeping experience

Knowledge Requirements

• Ability to operate handheld communication devices for communication with dispatch
• Ability to perform measurements with units such as cups, pints, quarts, ounces, inches, feet, and yards
