Position:

Head Housekeeper

The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. As Head Housekeeper, you’ll help the Operations Manager supervise all aspects of housekeeping and laundry to ensure high standards are maintained.

Key Accountabilities

People

• Manage daily staffing, plan and assign work, and set performance and development goals for employees.
• Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to improve employee performance and manage conflict.
• Train staff in compliance with safety and governmental regulations, ensuring they have the necessary tools and equipment.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with other departments.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects and during high-volume periods.

Guest Experience

• Ensure public areas, guest rooms, linens, and equipment are clean and in good repair; advise on improvements.
• Perform housekeeping duties such as making beds and cleaning guest suites to ensure satisfaction.
• Handle guest complaints and requests to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Address special needs and requests of guests, VIPs, and repeat visitors.
• Assist in preparing the departmental budget and monitor expenses to increase productivity.
• Maintain inventory levels, manage costs related to supplies and labor, and promote sustainability initiatives.

Responsible Business

• Order supplies and equipment efficiently, minimizing waste and supporting green initiatives.
• Maintain procedures for security of lost and found items.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including serving as manager on duty when necessary.

Accountabilities

This role supervises a small team of housekeeping and laundry staff and is the top supervisory position in the department.

Key Skills & Experiences

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus at least one year of housekeeping and supervisory experience.
• Ability to speak the local language(s).
