Job summary

Fort Valley State University invites applications for a Maintenance Foreperson who directs and performs skilled campus facilities maintenance, planning daily and weekly activities and supervising technicians in the Facilities Maintenance Department.

This full-time, 12-month role reports to the Assistant Director for Facilities Operations and may require evening hours, weekends, and emergency call-outs; the incumbent will help develop preventive maintenance programs and ensure safe, reliable MEP

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five years supervisory maintenance experience.
• Technical knowledge of maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting MEP systems.
• Strong supervisory and administrative abilities; computer literacy required.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds; valid drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily and weekly maintenance activities.
• Assign work to maintenance technicians.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs.
• Identify energy-saving measures.
• Monitor work progress and correct deficiencies.
• Ensure safe and reliable MEP systems; emergency response.
• Assist in provisioning equipment and supplies.
