Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Technical Specialist, CAE Crashworthiness, to execute high-fidelity simulations evaluating full-vehicle crashworthiness and to translate results into actionable design recommendations. The role involves cross-functional collaboration, building CAE models from CAD, and reporting program status to engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in CAE crashworthiness for automotive OEMs, strong LS-DYNA and Python skills, and experience with Ansa/Meta, Oasys, and

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in full vehicle crashworthiness CAE for an automotive OEM or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of regulatory safety requirements (FMVSS, UNECE, USNCAP, IIHS, Euro NCAP, China NCAP)
• Analytical skills to derive conclusions from CAE results
• Experience correlating CAE with physical tests
• Ability to present issues and CAE results concisely and propose next steps
• Proficiency with LS-DYNA and pre/post processing tools (Ansa/Meta, Oasys, Hyperworks)
• Scripting using Python
• Experience with CAD/CATIA is a plus

Responsibilities

• Execute simulations to evaluate full vehicle structural crashworthiness for frontal, side, rear, and pedestrian protection
• Generate design recommendations in collaboration with engineering teams
• Assist in building a high-fidelity CAE model from CAD data
• Create analysis reports and communicate program status to teams
• Participate in post-test teardowns to correlate CAE results with physical tests
• Conduct DOE/DFSS studies using optimization tools within design constraints
• Contribute to standard work procedures for QA of models and results
• Lead and mentor junior engineers
