Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking a CAD Technician to collect and input survey and engineering data into CAD/CAM/CAE databases and deliver GPS Machine Control Models, Surfaces, Linework and visual documentation to field teams.

You will translate engineering requirements into drawings, oversee modeling work, and collaborate with construction staff to ensure designs meet project goals and standards on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Associate or bachelor’s degree in drafting or survey preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of Computer Aided Design (CAD) support and/or experience required.
• Fully proficient in CAD/CAM/CAE design and drafting software platforms and processes.
• Works with a limited degree of supervision, and may help determine approaches for new assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assesses engineering requirements and translates into blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models.
• Oversees modeling and design duties that require site authorization or precedence.
• Reviews and provides feedback on CAD work for junior technicians.
• Leads design changes and updates as the primary technician.
• Collaborates effectively with team members across disciplines.
