Job summary

San Bernardino County Land Use Services is seeking qualified Building Inspectors III for the Building and Safety Division to serve as lead workers, overseeing and managing more complex assignments. They enforce building standards to safeguard public health, safety, and property across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Applicants must have three years of experience in a public Building and Safety agency, ICC certifications, and be willing to travel county-wide; background checks,

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in a public Building and Safety agency inspecting building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing for compliance.
• ICC certification in Commercial and/or Residential programs.
• Certification with a recognized state, national, or international association is required.
• Willingness to travel county-wide and ability to obtain background checks and fingerprinting.
• Sponsorship for visa is not available.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage complex inspection assignments across building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes.
• Enforce building standards to safeguard health, safety, and property.
• Provide leadership as a lead worker within the Division.
