Job summary

ABM Industries in Seattle, WA seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to lead engineering staff and coordinate service contractors for buildings and equipment maintenance.

You will implement and document site safety plans, maintain preventive maintenance programs, manage stock, schedule engineers, and report to the Chief Engineer. Strong leadership, training, and knowledge of building automation are essential to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Experience commensurate with facility leadership requirements for Assistant Chief Engineer.
• Prefer 3-4 years progressive operations experience.
• Strong employee relation skills, coaching and training abilities.
• Possess high-level license for stationary engineer/HVAC and EPA Universal refrigerant recovery license.

Responsibilities

• Provides management for engineering staff under Chief Engineer.
• Performs preventive maintenance and operations work orders; QA inspections and reporting.
• Provides hands-on and classroom training for engineering staff.
• Manages stock levels of engineering equipment and parts.
• Schedules engineers, prioritizes work, and allocates resources including emergencies.
• Maintains regular reports to Chief Engineer on schedule progress and delays.
• Develops and updates preventive maintenance programs; maintains safety standards.
