Job summary

Avison Young is seeking a Building Engineer to maintain and operate the building systems for our properties in the United States. The role focuses on HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and safety compliance to ensure efficient facility operations.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, responding to tenant service requests, and coordinating with contractors. A strong customer-service mindset and adherence to safety standards are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience in a commercial property.
• CFC certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building systems including HVAC, boiler, heating, refrigeration, water, and energy systems.
• Respond to tenant service requests and emergencies with prompt, professional service.
• Coordinate with management, tenants, and contractors to support operations and safety.
• Conduct routine site inspections of alarms, safety equipment, and HVAC equipment.
