Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Lead Building Engineer will supervise maintenance, repair, and alteration of buildings and equipment, plan and schedule projects, administer service contracts, and assist the Chief Engineer. This role is based in a Central Business District (CBD) building.
This position involves second-line supervisory responsibilities, with oversight from the Chief Engineer and direction to Building Maintenance Field Technicians. The role combines supervisory and technical maintenance experience, requiring minimal direct supervision. The Lead Engineer ensures project deadlines are met and standards are maintained, planning major projects with input from their supervisor.

Qualifications
Knowledge of: Building maintenance principles, tools, and materials; HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems; safety practices; codes and regulations; construction trades.
Skills to: Lead, organize, and evaluate staff; analyze technical and administrative problems; prepare reports; exercise judgment within policies.
Ability to: Effectively communicate with Code enforcement and other stakeholders; interpret plans and specifications; work in diverse environments; meet physical and mental requirements.
Education/Experience
Minimum two years leading a team in building maintenance or engineering; or five years in trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry) with supervisory experience and relevant certifications such as Systems Maintenance Administration Designation or similar.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Valid Driver License, Vehicle Liability insurance, Universal CFC certification, and Systems Maintenance Administrator Designation are required. Work involves indoor and outdoor environments, exposure to temperature extremes, machinery, dust, fumes, noise, radiation, chemicals, and uneven surfaces. Must be able to work around others and independently.
