Job summary

Baker Group in Des Moines, IA, seeks an Automation Technician with strong experience in startup, checkout, and programming of building automation systems. You will configure BACnet/Modbus networks, calibrate sensors, and develop graphics and dashboards, while mentoring junior technicians and leading small projects.

Required are 3–5 years in automation, an associate degree in electronic/automation fields, and hands-on hardware/software skills.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in automation or related field required.
  • Associate degree in electronic/automation field or equivalent.
  • Experience with BACnet/Modbus networks and controls helpful.
  • Strong problem solving and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Start-up of microprocessor control components and related hardware.
  • Point-to-point checkout for grounding, polarity and power.
  • Calibrate input/output devices like sensors and transducers.
  • Upload/download and modify control software and programs.
  • Configure BACnet networking (IP, MAC, addresses) and perform networking tasks.
  • Develop and troubleshoot BACnet/Modbus networks and graphics.
  • Interpret SOO and apply to DDC program logic.
  • Mentor Automation Technician I and lead small projects.
