Job summary

Oak View Group in Evanston, IL is seeking a Manager, Control Room Engineering to lead the in-venue broadcast control rooms for major live events. You will maintain and troubleshoot video, audio, and graphics systems, working with game staff, networks, and external crews to ensure reliable operations.

The role requires hands-on expertise in live production workflows, strong communication, and a customer-first approach to deliver exceptional guest experiences and sponsor activations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast engineering, media production, IT, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3–5 years in professional or power collegiate sports as a technical broadcast professional.
• Experience supporting live sports, concerts, or large-scale event production.
• Strong understanding of broadcast signal flow, routing, monitoring, and IP-based systems.
• Certifications (AVIXA, PMP, manufacturer trainings) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead engineer for in-venue broadcast control rooms and production systems.
• Maintain, configure, test, and troubleshoot video, audio, and graphics equipment.
• Ensure all control-room equipment and signal paths are operational and event-ready.
• Coordinate with game presentation, networks, and outside production crews.
• Provide on-site engineering support for events and adjust systems in real time.
• Develop practical technical solutions to support client needs and revenue opportunities.
• Maintain documentation, signal-flow drawings, and inventories.
