Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer III to be based in Rocky Hill, CT. The role leads design efforts and project management for bridge projects in Connecticut and the Northeast region, with opportunities to work on diverse projects and develop professionally.

The position requires leading design tasks, coordinating with staff, and delivering high-quality structural solutions using steel and concrete. PE license and CTDOT experience are preferred. On-site work in Rocky Hill, CT is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and four years of related experience in transportation structures or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to reciprocity in project jurisdiction.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering (preferred).
• Experience with CTDOT projects and proficiency with AutoCAD, Microstation, OpenBridge and similar software.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineer on bridge projects, reviewing designs and plans.
• Provide specialized technical input on transportation projects.
• Manage bridge projects, design tasks, and coordinate with engineering staff.
• Design new bridges using structural steel, prestressed concrete, and reinforced concrete.
• Assess and rehabilitate existing bridges and perform load evaluations.
• Prepare specifications, design documents, reports, and provide construction support.
