Job summary

AECOM in Connecticut seeks a Senior Inspector, Highway & Bridge to perform construction inspections on railroads, bridges and highways. This on-site role is based in Rocky Hill, CT, with a $7,500 sign-on bonus and full-time hours.

The successful candidate will conduct field tests, review engineering computations, manage inspection records, and coordinate with the Construction Project Manager while ensuring quality and safety standards on multiple projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and 8 years of related experience performing inspections on related bridge and/or roadway construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Responsibilities

• Perform assignments in construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work and conducting field tests.
• Plan and accomplish goals with minimal direction and under general supervision of the Construction Project Manager.
• Set own project deadlines and provide on-the-job training to new employees.
• Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications and/or code requirements through inspection duties.
• Perform daily field inspections and maintain inspection records.
• Participate in punch lists, testing and commissioning; track QA progress.
