Job summary

Turner Mining Group is seeking a Lead Blaster to join our Idaho operations in Soda Springs. This role leads the blasting crew, plans patterns, and ensures safe, efficient execution in a high-performance mining setting.

You will apply expertise in explosives, blast design, and MSHA compliance, mentor crew members, and coordinate with drill and mine operations to align blasting with production goals.

A strong safety record and the ability to work outdoors in all weather are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a blaster with lead/supervisory duties.
• Valid blaster license/certification per Idaho regulations.
• Strong knowledge of explosives, blast design and initiation systems.
• MSHA regulations knowledge and compliance.
• Ability to read blast plans and site drawings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and lay out blast patterns.
• Lead and coordinate the blast crew and operations.
• Ensure safe handling, transport, and storage of explosives.
• Oversee drill hole loading for correct powder factor and timing.
• Perform pre-blast and post-blast inspections.
• Maintain blast logs and regulatory documentation.
• Mentor blast crew members and provide guidance.
• Coordinate blasting schedules with operations.
• Follow MSHA and explosives regulations.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions.
