Job summary

MilliporeSigma is seeking a Principal Project Engineer in Lenexa, KS to lead design, qualification, and optimization of cell culture media manufacturing equipment and facilities, ensuring safe, compliant, and scalable production for biopharmaceutical applications.

You will manage capital projects and process improvements, collaborating with process engineering, manufacturing, quality, EHS, and maintenance while driving timing, budget, risk, and change control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biochemical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering (or closely related field); Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience managing projects over $1M.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, qualification, and optimization of cell culture media manufacturing equipment and facilities for safe, compliant production.
• Provide technical project management for capital projects and process improvements.
• Collaborate with process engineering, manufacturing, quality, EHS, and maintenance to ensure robust design, commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness.
• Drive project timing, budget, and risk management; present status reports to leadership and stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and cross-functional teams to foster safety, quality, and continuous improvement; identify cost-saving opportunities and energy/water efficiency improvements.
